Fenerbahce have agreed a deal to sign Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen on a season-long loan.
According to reports, Janssen is yet to agree terms or pass a medical with the Turkish club, but the move is expected to go through.
The Dutchman joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar last summer for a fee of £17 million.
But Janssen endured a difficult first season in England, scoring just six goals in all competitions.
The 23-year-old will join another former Tottenham striker at Fenerbahce, Roberto Soldado. The Spaniard scored 16 goals for Spurs in two seasons at the club.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Janssen’s exit.
I have just been reminded that Vincent Janssen and Roberto Soldado will now form the most feared strikeforce in Europe. Funny world.

Is Soldado the Spanish Janssen or is Janssen the Dutch Soldado? We’ll be finding out https://t.co/ujiF7xNb0k

Many factors as to why it didn’t work last season, but still think he’s a fairly good striker & regular game time will probably do him good.

Interesting loan. Surely he’d rather cut his teeth in PL to impress Poch? He must feel totally unsuited to the league to move to Turkey… https://t.co/MqUly7gF1H

Rebrov, Soldado, now Janssen. Fenerbahce doing #thfc favours since 2002 https://t.co/tA5w6bSDjm

Seen so many things in life.
– Spurs finishing above Arsenal
– Leicester winning the league
– Janssen & Soldado upfront togetherAmen ?

#thfc Vincent Janssen would surely have been better off on loan at a PL club but at least he’ll be playing… https://t.co/YiFM7AUUyP

One one hand, ruthless from Poch with Janssen. On the other, Spurs been there/done that, sticking with strikers when it just isn’t working.

I feel for Vinny Janssen. Wrong player, wrong club and ultimately the wrong manager, who clearly never wanted him. All the best ?? #COYS
