Real Madrid defender Marcelo is set to miss around a month of action after tearing a muscle in his left thigh.
That means he’ll almost certainly miss Madrid’s Champions League clash with Tottenham at the Bernabeu on October 17th.
If there are any delays in the Brazilian’s recovery, he could also be absent for the reverse fixture at Wembley on November 1st.
Marcelo has been one of the European champions’ most important players over last few seasons both defensively and going forward, so his absence can only be good news for Spurs.
Tottenham started their Champions League campaign with a 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley earlier this month.
