Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Real Madrid’s trip to Wembley to face Tottenham in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The former Spurs attacker has failed to recover from his latest injury in time to feature in what could turn out to be a crucial game.
Keylor Navas and Dani Carvajal are also out, while Raphael Varane is a “major doubt” according to Spanish outlet AS.
Varane suffered an injury to his right leg prior to Madrid’s historic 2-1 defeat to Girona in La Liga.
As a result, the defender played no part in the match and has been deemed doubtful for Wednesday.
The centre-back scored an own goal in the reverse fixture at the Bernabeu before Cristiano Ronaldo levelled from the spot in the 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has provided an update on the fitness of Harry Kane, who missed Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday with a hamstring injury.
