Tottenham are preparing a €10 million bid for Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan, according to reports in Turkey.
However, Turkish outlet Fotomac (via Turkish-Football.com) claims Besiktas are holding out for €12 million.
The 27-year-old, who made only 14 appearances in all competitions last season, has five years remaining on his current contract.
The story appears to have come out of nowhere. Spurs haven’t been linked with Arslan before, but they are said to have been impressed with his performance in Besiktas’ 1-1 draw with Monaco in the Champions League last week.
Tottenham very rarely buy players in the January window. However, with the injuries seemingly piling up, perhaps that will change this time around.
