Ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Crystal Palace, some Tottenham fans were worried the team would follow up one of the most historic wins in the club’s history by dropping against the Premier League’s bottom side.

Those worries intensified when the starting line-up was announced. Hugo Lloris had already been ruled out with a groin strain, and there was no sign of his usual deputy Michel Vorm, who had picked up a knee injury.

In stepped third choice goalkeeper Paul Gazzaniga for his debut. Despite a couple of hairy moments, the Argentine made three crucial saves that allowed Spurs to go on and win the game by a narrow margin.
