Chelsea want to sign Ross Barkley in January but face major competition from Tottenham, according to The Mirror.
The Everton midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season. He was expected to leave Goodison Park in the summer, but reportedly turned down a last minute move to Chelsea in order to assess in options in January.
Now, The Mirror believes the champions are set to go back in for Barkley as they plan a January “transfer splurge”. However, the report claims Spurs are still interested in signing the 23-year-old.
I’m a fan of Barkley, and I think he’d provide good competition in central midfield and in the more advanced positions for Tottenham. Hopefully he considers Mauricio Pochettino’s track record with young English players when he makes his decision.
Get him in ….COY
He will become a better player under Poch and Conte is not a developer of players. He has potential to become regular starter
