It was a night to remember for Christian Eriksen, who scored a wonderful hat-trick in Denmark’s 5-1 win over the Republic of Ireland to take his country to the World Cup finals.
The Tottenham playmaker was in scintillating form at the Aviva Stadium, silencing the home crowd with three superb goals.
Eriksen has been sensational for club and country in 2017, and he’s clearly beginning to earn more recognition for his performances. Let’s just hope Barcelona and Real Madrid weren’t watching.

Please, let’s not get carried away by Christians performance. As a diehard Spurs fan, I love the bloke but it was only the Republic of Ireland he played against and not a powerhouse side like Germany for instance. Lets be honest here, he is head and shoulders above every single player on that park last night. Whilst I’m delighted for him and Denmark, I would love to see him and the rest of the Spurs team, stick it to the Arseholes on Saturday. We’ve outplayed those clowns in their own backyard so often only to come away with a draw or worse. If Christian can produce a couple of those impressive pile drivers on Saturday, I’ll start giving him greater praise myself.
