Tottenham travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal in the first North London derby of the season on Saturday.
Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama have been ruled out, but five key players took part in full training for the first time on Thursday – Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm, Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
It’s still unclear whether they are all 100% ready. I assume one of the returning goalkeepers will start – hopefully it’s Lloris.
With no Alderweireld, Spurs will probably deploy a back four with Eric Dier dropping in from holding midfield with necessary.
I’d like to see Harry Winks and Mousa Dembele start together in midfield. Alternatively, Moussa Sissoko could be used to provide a bit more attacking intent.
Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier seem to be Pochettino’s first choice wing-backs at the moment, so expect to see them in the line-up. The front three picks itself providing they are all fit to play.
Here’s our Tottenham XI to face Arsenal – what’s yours?
Exactly the team I’d pick too. If Toby was available, I’d have him for Sanchez (who has been brilliant but I rate Dier ahead of him for now). Otherwise I think that’s the best team we can play – I’d have Wanyama on the bench because I love the idea of having two creative midfielders in Winks and Dembele in the middle, rather than stunting our creativity with a holding midfielder there. I really rate Dier at the back, has potential to be the best English CB.
