Mauricio Pochettino has suggested Georges-Kevin N’Koudou needs to do more to be considered for selection in the first team.

N’Koudou joined Tottenham from Marseille in the summer of 2016 but has failed to make an impression in England.

In his press conference ahead of this weekend’s game against West Brom, Pochettino discussed the qualities Erik Lamela will bring to the final third when he makes his long awaited return from injury.

The Spurs boss was then asked if N’Koudou is another option to improve the attack.

“GK, we are waiting for him still,” Pochettino answered. “Today he’s not showing he’s in this condition to play. He needs to show more.

“You know if a player is not involved too much it’s because we believe that they need to show more and deserve to play.” (Quotes via Yahoo! Sport.)

It doesn’t sound like the winger has any kind of future at Tottenham. I’ll be surprised if he is still a Spurs player next season.

  1. Like Njye before him, Nkoudou has been a waste of both £10m and a big wage bill.
I don’t know who scouts these players, and yes I know a gamble is a gamble, but
Spurs should be working with better odds. What did Kane, Eriksen and Alli cost?
Verts and Toby? Lloris?? Rose, Trippier and Davies? Dier? Wanyama? Dembele? Winks?
and so on. OK, Son cost £20m but he’s repaying that. So is the wonderful Sanchez.
And the jury’s out still on Jannsen and Llorente. But Sissoko ..our previous record signing?
OK ..he’s trying hard now, and you can’t ask more than that, but it was still a poor
investment. Like Soldado, Paulinho and Lamela (the latter for continual sicknotes) we can now add to the list of poor investments, Aurier! But Nkoudou and Nyje? Terrible buys.

  2. After last week’s farce at Emirates Stadium, the whole team needs a good kick up the jacksie. They were woeful. Can only hope that Poch read the riot act. Theose are the games where the whole team needs to show up. The Gooners did, we didn’t.

  3. GK is a waste of money, Facts are Spurs would of won the league the last two seasons with the correct investments in January.

Dembele- so strong but no goals and slows the game down too much. Fine if we are 2/3 goals ahead.

Eriksen- not tough enough in the tackle

Alli – stop going to ground under any contact

We need pace and the ability to go past a player !

    Mahrez
    Zaha
    Richarldson
    Gray

    All options ?!?!
