Mauricio Pochettino does not believe the release of his book has affected Tottenham’ form.
Some critics believe that the release of Guillem Balague’s book, ‘Brave New World: Inside Pochettino’s Spurs’, is having a negative effect on the team.
But Pochettino has insisted that’s not the case, defending the book’s honest depiction of life at the club.
“It’s a risk when you lie. If you tell the truth, why [is it a risk]? This is a very honest book that was involved with the club for a very good thing,” said the Spurs boss. (Quotes via ESPN.)
“It’s an amazing book because all of you can read what happens in a season for a professional club. It’s a great opportunity to have a better idea that it is not only about playing football or coming here [to a news conference] to speak.
“The problem is when you lie, when you lie inside and want to be different. But for me I am here how I am inside. And all that appears in this book, the players know better than me. It’s nothing to keep hidden.
“We won a lot of games when the book appeared. So I am more than happy if the book is the problem!”
