Phil Jones scored a comical own goal as Manchester United fell to a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham at Wembley.

Spurs made the best possible start, taking the lead after just ten seconds through Christian Eriksen. You can watch his goal here.

It got better when Jones somehow turned Kieran Trippier’s low cross into his own net.

The hosts dominated the second half – the 2-0 scoreline flattered Jose Mourinho’s side, who were thoroughly outplayed for the most part.

Tottenham are now just two points behind third placed Liverpool.

You can watch Jones’ howler below. Watch out for Dele Alli’s nutmeg on Alexis Sanchez in the build-up.

  1. It looked like a rabona ?

These things happen in football, just the other week Davinson scored one, just gotta put it down to bad luck and carry on.

    We played great regardless!
