Real Madrid are interested in signing Toby Alderweireld, according to the Mirror.

Yesterday we relayed reports suggesting Tottenham are “reluctant” to meet Alderweireld’s £150,000-a-week wage demands.

It is believed contract talks between Spurs and Alderweireld broke down last month as the Belgian apparently thinks he is worth wages in line with the Premier League’s best-paid centre-backs.

The Mirror believes Alderweireld’s contract situation has put Real Madrid “on alert.”

He isn’t the first Tottenham player to be linked with a move to Bernabeu this season – Harry Kane and Dele Alli are both often touted as Madrid targets by the Spanish media.

Spurs fans will be hoping their club can come to an agreement with Alderweireld sooner rather than later.

  1. Where have you been Jennings? This crap story has run its course. Nobody but wannabee hacks with nothing to write about are talking about this. You need to get a job.

  2. I do not feel that is story is worthy of flogging to death any longer, firstly the 150,000 a week demands are in my opinion gutter media skullduggery and secondly he is under contract until he is 32 if you add on the 1 year option that Levy snuck into his contract so why extend it? If he refuses to sign a new contract then make him honour his current deal…. Simples.
