Tottenham are considering a move for Wilfried Zaha this summer, according to the Mirror.
Zaha has been linked with Spurs in each of the last three or four transfer windows, and the Mirror‘s report claims a third attempt to sign him will be made at the end of the season.
What’s more, Tottenham are believed to be confident of signing Zaha ahead of Chelsea and Manchester City.
The 25-year-old’s current contract with Crystal Palace runs until 2022. He apparently earns £100,000-a-week – only Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are thought to earn more than that at Spurs.
The Mirror also suggests Zaha will cost around £50 million, meaning Tottenham would likely have to break their transfer record to sign him.
A deal for Zaha would throw a move for Bordeaux winger Malcom into doubt. The Brazilian is set to leave France this summer and Spurs are reportedly still keen.
Of course, Tottenham might not even want another winger having signed Lucas Moura for £25 million from Paris Saint-Germain in January.
Unless Mauricio Pochettino is planning on playing Zaha through the middle – as back-up or potentially as a partner for Harry Kane – it’s difficult to see Spurs splashing out on the Ivory Coast international.
