Bayern Munich had arranged a meeting with the representatives of Tottenham target Malcom, according to reports in Germany, but it didn’t happen.

Spurs emerged as favourites to sign Malcom from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in January, and there are suggestions a deal could still happen this summer.

The Brazilian has emerged as one of the best players in France this season, leading to reported interest from a number of clubs across Europe – Bayern Munich are the latest of those clubs.

According to German publication Bild, Malcom’s representatives had been set to meet Bayern officials “a few weeks ago” to agree a provisional five-year deal. However, that meeting apparently never happened.

Malcom has already made clear his intention to leave Bordeaux at the end of the season.

There are question marks over whether Tottenham are indeed still interest in the 20-year-old following the signing of Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Spurs have also been linked with Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha. I can’t see the club moving for both Zaha and Malcom, so a decision may have to be made about which target is the priority.
