Among the many talking points that emerged from Tottenham’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday, Serge Aurier’s performance was perhaps the most notable.
The right-back made a crucial tackle to save Spurs from going behind midway through the second half, but that was by far his best moment.
His crossing was dismal, and he produced a hat-trick of foul throw-ins – yes, three of them.
After the game, Mauricio Pochettino jokingly accused Aurier of trying to get him sacked, and insisted the team will now work on throw-ins in training.
