Tottenham travel to Swansea in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday, and Mauricio Pochettino has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.
Spurs will be without Harry Kane, who has been ruled out until next month with an ankle injury.
There are a couple of options up front. Pochettino could go with Fernando Llorente, who scored the last time he faced his old club.
Alternatively, Son Heung-min could be deployed through the middle, a tactic that worked a treat at Bournemouth last weekend when Son was at the double in a 4-1 win.
I think Son will get the nod and Llorente will be on the bench.
Lucas Moura will be hoping for a rare start, but Pochettino might be tempted to go with the tried and tested attacking group that impressed against Bournemouth.
After all, the FA Cup is the only remaining silverware Tottenham can with this season – the Spurs boss won’t be keen on taking too many risks.
With that in mind, Pochettino also has dilemma concerning Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian is in contention to start, but he struggled at Rochdale in the previous round.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez keep their places instead.
Michel Vorm is likely to retain his spot, too, having started every FA Cup game so far this term.
Here’s our predicted XI to face Swansea – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments.
We need to rest some of our best players, and that includes Son. This game is about the highest level Lamela can perform in, and he has yet another opportunity to show he can actually do something. I would like to see Sterling have a game. Walker-Peters may play in place of Davies (injury?). Wanyama may play instead of Dier.
Also time to give Lucas a game.
Just picked up Dele may be out through injury, so Lucas in (for me).
you do realize its the cup quarter final…. best players needed!!!
Lucas
My team would be
Lloris
Trippier
Vertonghen
Sanchez
Rose
Lucas
Dembele
Wanyama
Eriksen
Lamela
Son
Pure pace and trickery up front.
We need this cup! !
