Tottenham are set to offer Mauricio Pochettino a new contract to ward off interest from Real Madrid, according to the Telegraph.
The club is said to be optimistic Pochettino will sign the new deal, while six star players are also likely to recommit in the coming months.
Those players are Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris, Heung-Min Son and Christian Eriksen.
A number of key players have signed new contracts during Pochettino’s reign, but improved performances and an inflated market have forced Tottenham’s hand again.
Eriksen was linked with a move to Barcelona last summer, while Kane and Alli have both attracted interest from Real Madrid in recent months.
The Telegraph’s report also suggests Madrid are keen on Pochettino to replace Zinedine Zidane if the Frenchman leaves the Bernabeu this summer.
Spurs fans will be glad to hear the club is eager to tie Pochettino down, which would function as a hands off warning to the La Liga giants.
Tottenham took a huge step towards Champions League qualification by moving eight points above fifth-placed Chelsea on Sunday, increasing their chances of retaining their best players this summer.
