Tottenham’s rather bizarre appeal to have Christian Eriksen’s second goal at Stoke credited to Harry Kane has inevitably led to plenty of internet trolling.
Eriksen’s free-kick appeared to go all the way in as Spurs secured a 2-1 victory at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, but Kane insisted the ball brushed off his shoulder before hitting the back of the net.
The club has launched an appeal to have Kane recognised as the official goalscorer, which has resulted in plenty of bickering between Tottenham and Liverpool fans – the latter suggesting Kane is desperate to catch up with Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.
If you can ignore all of the needless squabbling, the whole situation is actually quite funny, as demonstrated by the video below posted by Twitter’s @vonstrenginho.
