Tottenham are monitoring the situation of Chelsea winger Kenedy, who is currently on loan at Newcastle United, according to the Northern Echo.

Kenedy joined Newcastle on a loan deal until the end of the season in January.

His performances have apparently been good enough for Newcastle to express an interest in signing the 22-year-old on a permanent basis this summer.

But the Northern Echo believes Rafael Benitez could face competition from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham for Kenedy’s signature.

There is a chance the Brazilian will stay at Stamford Bridge next season if Chelsea replace Antonio Conte in the dugout at the end of the current campaign.

Conte clearly didn’t fancy Kenedy if he sent him out on loan, but a new manager could see things differently.

Whether or not Kenedy opts to leave the Londoners, I can’t see him joining Spurs – even if their interest in genuine.

Chelsea and Tottenham haven’t done transfer business with each other for many years, and that doesn’t look like changing any time soon. I really don’t think this story has legs.
