The Belgian strode out of defence and put Mame Biram Diouf on the floor with a typically proficient piece of skill.
Diouf almost had the last laugh when he took advantage of a Hugo Lloris mistake to equalise for the hosts midway through the second half.
But Spurs secured the victory with the winner a few minutes later. Next up, it’s Manchester City at Wembley.
