Tottenham want 17-year-old Reo Griffiths to sign a new contract with the club amid interest from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, according to the Mirror.

Griffiths scored four goals and provided three assists as Spurs’ Under-18s side thrashed Arsenal 9-0 in a Premier League youth fixture earlier this week.

The teenager has now found the net 33 times in domestic competition this season, including seven braces and three hat-tricks, inevitably drawing comparisons to Harry Kane.

The Mirror claims Tottenham are trying to sort out a new contract for Griffiths, but the striker could leave the club this summer if a deal isn’t agreed.

Earlier this year, reports suggested Leipzig hold an interest in the youngster – former Spurs head of recruitment Paul Mitchell now works for the German club, and he has likely advised his employers to have a look at Griffiths.

That interest remains, according to the Mirror, but there is as of yet no indication Griffiths would be keen on a move abroad.

With Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen set to leave this summer, Tottenham could turn to Griffiths as a deputy for Kane if he is deemed appropriate for the role by Mauricio Pochettino.

  1. Really need to get him marcus signed and loaned next season for half a season at championship sides Marcus back to Norwich to work on his maturiry and off ball game…Reo to Brighton Hove Albion hopefully where a former spurs manager and an experienced hard working striker are there for him to learn from

  2. Yes I know BHA are currently a PL side but with their run in I think they could go down….would try to sign Dembele as second striker and promote Sterling to Cup striker duties next season coming on for last 30 for Kane or coming off for him at same time using Dembele in similar role for PL and CL.
