Tottenham are interested in signing Fiorentina striker Giovanni Simeone this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego, was linked with Spurs last summer but a deal failed to materialise.

The 22-year-old has scored 13 goals in Serie A this season, and Italian outlet Tuttosport (via talkSPORT) believes he is attracting interest from clubs across Europe.

His father was the international teammate of Mauricio Pochettino – whether that will help Tottenham win the race for his signature remains to be seen.

Spurs are expected to sell Fernando Llorente this summer, while Vincent Janssen is being linked with another loan spell at Fenerbahce.

That will leave room in the squad for a new forward. Tottenham are also reportedly chasing Wilfried Zaha, Anthony Martial and Red Bull Salzburg attacker Hee-Chan Hwang – the international teammate of Spurs star Heung-Min Son.

Zaha and Martial are likely to command huge transfer fees, whereas Hwang and Simeone could be cheaper alternatives.

Tottenham have the opportunity to raise plenty of transfer funds with the potential sales of Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose, so I wouldn’t rule anything out.
