Tottenham welcome Leicester City to Wembley on Sunday for the final game of the Premier League campaign, and Mauricio Pochettino has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.
Harry Kane’s winner against Newcastle United on Wednesday ensured Spurs will be playing in the Champions League next season, but third place is still very much up for grabs.
As a result, I think Pochettino will go with a mix of familiarity and experimentation against the Foxes, who have very little to play for themselves.
In his press conference on Friday, Pochettino said there is a chance Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters will be in the starting line-up.
With that in mind, perhaps the Tottenham boss will go with a back three of Foyth, Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen, with Walker-Peters and Ben Davies as wing-backs.
Sunday will also provide a good opportunity for January arrival Lucas Moura to get 90 Premier League minutes under his belt – he’s most likely to come in for Heung-Min Son, who is without a goal since March.
Mousa Dembele is a doubt, so Christian Eriksen could drop into a slightly deeper midfield position to partner the returning Eric Dier.
Here’s our predicted XI to face Leicester – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments.
Toby instead of Sanchez to provide extra experience next to Foyth. It is important to finish 3rd to ensure a better seeding in the CL. Would love to see Moura get 90 minutes.
agree if Poch is having talks next week he must play Toby tomorrow if only so the fans can say goodbye and thanks for the time we had him
Forget playing Foyth , get Alderweireld in there
Glad Walker Peters may get a start, Rose over Davies for me!
Excited by Moura , Son is better when he starts games.
