Tottenham are interested in signing Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech this summer but could face competition from Liverpool and West Ham United, according to reports in Italy.

Ziyech joined Ajax from FC Twente in the summer of 2016, scoring 18 goals and providing 30 assists across his first two seasons at the Amsterdam club.

The 25-year-old, who still has three years remaining on his current contract, has been one of the standout players in the Eredivisie this term.

As a result, Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claims Spurs are interested in making a move for him this summer.

However, Liverpool and West Ham are also expected to enquire about the attacking midfielder at the end of the season.

I’d expect Tottenham to have a good chance of signing Ziyech ahead of West Ham because they can offer Champions League football – but Liverpool may be willing to offer better wages.

Spurs signed Ziyech’s former teammate Davinson Sanchez from Ajax last summer.

If lines of communication are still open between the clubs, perhaps contact will be made soon.

That said, no reputable UK sources have picked up on the story yet, so it’s remains just a rumour for now.
