Despite being part of a Tottenham back line that shipped four goals against Leicester City, young defender Kyle Walker-Peters was one of the best players on the pitch on Sunday.
The 21-year-old was making his first start for Spurs since the opening day of the Premier League season, when he was named man of the match in a 2-0 win at Newcastle United.
He was even better against Leicester, at least in an attacking capacity, assisting both Erik Lamela goals as Tottenham came from 3-1 down to win 5-4 at Wembley.
The 21-year-old’s performance raises an important question concerning Spurs’ right-backs: should Tottenham consider selling Serge Aurier this summer?
The 25-year-old arrived from PSG last August and has struggled to cement a place in the starting line-up ahead of Kieran Trippier.
Perhaps he will take more than a few months to settle in England, but there have been some major concerns about his game: Aurier often flies into tackles in the penalty area and his crossing has been poor.
What’s more, Walker-Peters’ future at the club may be dependent on either Trippier or Aurier leaving this summer – if both stay, will Walker-Peters get a game next season?
I think Aurier should be given another season to prove himself in the Premier League. In the meantime, will Walker-Peters be sent out on loan? It’s unlikely he will sold given that he’s just agreed a new contract, according to the Standard.

I’d like to see Aurier go even though I’m fond of him but Trips is much better and KWP needs more match time. I’d like to see us trade Serge back to PSG for Kurzawa. We need a solid replacement at RB when Rose goes..

Sorry I just dont think Aurier has the footballing intelligence as right back that Spurs needs. If an offer came in I would take it I know both Kyle Walker and Danny Rose had seasons where they were accidents about to happen but both showed much more promise than Aurier has this season. I just dont see Aurier having anything outstanding. Pace is ordinary, tackling often poor, crossing is ordinary atd I would say KWP already looks better in that department all KWP lacks compared to Aurier is strength but Aurier often appears to use his strength unwisely giving those penalties away. Aurier receives a pass and almost always plays it backwards the way he is looking and looks for a one two.We need a fullback that lets the ball run across him and uses his pace to take a marking player out of the game by flicking the ball passed an opponent. KWP has also played both sides of the defence and although I have not seen any crossing with his left foot that is also valuable asset. Maybe 1 more Aurier season with him second fiddle to Trippier but if a decent offer comes in take it Spurs, please.

I don’t think Poch got what he expected from Aurier but I’m not sure it’s time to give up on him yet.
he might benefit from a position switch – perhaps in the midfield – Definitely would like to see Walker-Peters get some more game time. he also needs to “bulk up” at bit.
Watched Aurier for PSG against Arsenal a couple of seasons ago and he destroyed Arsenal all by himself. We need to give him one more season to see if this version of Aurier is in there somewhere. Otherwise, we should just accept he’s not suited to the English game. I would buy Kurzawa anyway….
