Manchester City are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele, according to reports in Italy.
Last month, Dembele allegedly put new contract talks on hold until after the World Cup as rumours began to circulate about a potential move to China.
The Belgian, who has produced some of his best performances in a Spurs shirt this season, has also been linked with Serie A champions Juventus.
After Tottenham’s thrilling 5-4 win over Leicester City on Sunday, Mauricio Pochettino revealed he is set to hold talks with chairman Daniel Levy about taking “more risks” this summer.
Reports suggest Pochettino will attempt to persuade Levy to sell Spurs’ wantaway players – including Dembele – as soon as possible in order to sign replacements in time for next season.
And according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Manchester City and AC Milan are the frontrunners to sign the 30-year-old.
Regardless of whether Dembele stays or leaves, Tottenham would be wise to sign a long-term replacement for him – his fitness issues mean he will only regress from here.
