Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is set to sign a new contract worth in excess of £100,000-a-week including bonuses, according to the Telegraph.

Eriksen has been one of Spurs’ best players under Mauricio Pochettino’s management, scoring 26 in all competitions over the last two seasons.

Pochettino signed a new five-year contract last week, reportedly making him the third-highest paid manager in the Premier League behind Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho.

A number of high-profile players are expected to follow Pochettino’s lead by agreeing terms on new deals in the coming weeks.

And according to the Telegraph, Eriksen is one of those players, alongside Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen.

The report claims Eriksen’s new contract will be worth in excess of £100,000-a-week including bonuses.

Tottenham are said to pay huge bonuses compared to the Premier League’s other top clubs, who prefer to offer bigger weekly wages than bonuses.

Whether Eriksen will put pen to paper before the World Cup finals remains to be seen, but it certainly appears he will commit his future to the club.

  1. Totally agree with you. Spurs need a plan B with another top class creative midfield player like Eriksen who can unlock a defence and create/score a match winning goal.
Just like the current Kane striker situation at Spurs which also needs urgently resolved.
