Christian Pulisic’s father has brandished reports linking his son with a move to Tottenham as “hogwash”, claiming the Borussia Dortmund winger is linked with a different club every week.

Last week, reports emerged suggesting Spurs could look at Pulisic as a potential alternative to Ryan Sessegnon, who looks set to stay at Fulham after being promoted to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.

Pulisic, 19, was impressive against Tottenham at Wembley earlier in the season despite Dortmund falling to a 3-1 defeat in the Champions League group stages.

The USA international has also been heavily linked with Manchester United and Liverpool in the past. But his farther, Mark, who is part of the coaching setup at Dortmund’s academy, says there is no truth to any of those reports.

“He was linked to Tottenham. Last week it was Liverpool. The week before Man United. The week before this… it’s hogwash,” he told Sky Sports.

“He’s linked with a different club every week. I have no idea. His agent right now is working and looking, in close relation with me and Christian, and we’re just trying to see what the best phase of his next development will be.

“Now is the time that the season has just ended that we’ll sit down with Dortmund, we’ll sit down with, I don’t know whether others clubs are in the mix, [and see what] Dortmund’s idea is and their plans for Christian.

“But there’s nothing concrete. Right now, Christian plays for Dortmund and that’s where he is planning on playing again next year.”

Spurs are apparently on the lookout for an attacker who can play both out wide and provide cover for Harry Kane through the middle – Pulisic is more of a dedicated winger than a versatile forward.

Then again, Sessegnon isn’t really a central player either. Perhaps Pochettino is also keen to recruit yet another winger despite Lucas Moura’s arrival in January.
