Arsene Wenger has suggested Eric Dier should be in England’s starting line-up ahead of former Tottenham defender Kyle Walker at the World Cup.
Jordan Henderson was preferred to Dier in the holding midfield role for England’s opening games against Tunisia and Panama, while Walker has started on the right of a back three – a position Dier can also play in.
And Wenger, who recently left Spurs’ fierce rivals Arsenal after 22 years years in charge, believes Dier would be a better fit than Walker in the Three Lions’ back line.
