Stuttgart have told Benjamin Pavard’s suitors – including Tottenham – the defender isn’t for sale this summer, according to reports in Germany.
Spurs were linked with a move for Pavard, who can play as either a centre-back or a right-back, earlier this summer.
The 22-year-old has impressed on the right for France at the World Cup, scoring a stunning goal in his country’s 4-3 victory over Argentina in the Round of 16.
Pavard made 36 appearances in all competitions for Stuttgart in 2017/18, scoring one goal, and he is now said to be attracting interest from across Europe.
However, according to German outlet Stuttgarter Nachrichten (via talkSPORT), Stuttgart will not sell Pavard this summer under any circumstances.
Of course, that could change if the Bundesliga club receive a huge offer for the defender.
But the report claims Stuttgard have informed all of the clubs interested in Pavard, including Tottenham, that he won’t be leaving in the current transfer window.
Spurs are likely to sign a new centre-back this summer with Toby Alderweireld expected to leave the club in the coming weeks.
At this stage, it doesn’t look like his replacement will be Pavard.
