Tottenham are interested in signing Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi this summer, according to reports in Italy.
N’Zonzi has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent days – the France international played under new Gunners manager Unai Emery during their time together at Sevilla.
Spurs fans may remember N’Zonzi from his Premier League days.
The 29-year-old, who is currently with the France World Cup squad in Russia, made over 200 combined appearances for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
And according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (via talkSPORT), Mauricio Pochettino is interested in making a move for N’Zonzi this summer.
Tottenham are likely to sign a new central midfielder this summer with Mousa Dembele expected to leave the club.
The Belgian has just one year left on his current contract and is said to be a transfer target for Inter Milan.
Spurs have also been linked with Boca Juniors midfielder Wilmar Barrios this week.
N’Zonzi would arguably be a better replacement for Dembele because of his Premier League experience, but his ties with Emery could see him opt for the other side of north London.
