Harry Kane said England’s World Cup semi-final exit “is going to hurt for a while” following Wednesday’s 2-1 defeat to Croatia.
The Tottenham striker is likely to take home the Golden Boot, but he would have loved to captain England to a first World Cup win since 1966.
The Three Lions went ahead through Kieran Trippier’s brilliant early goal.
But a second half equaliser and an extra-time winner saw Croatia progress to Sunday’s final, where they will face France.
