Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish is expected to join Tottenham before the squad flies to America for their pre-season tour on July 21st.
Grealish emerged as a top transfer target for Spurs last month, with some reports suggesting an offer of around £15 million had been made.
Those reports were later denied, but it is believed Grealish is keen on joining Tottenham and a deal will be done once a fee is agreed.
Spurs allegedly don’t want to pay more than £20 million for the 22-year-old, although Villa are said to be holding out for around £30 million.
But Villa don’t appear to be in the best bargaining position – manager Steve Bruce has revealed Grealish must be sold for the Championship club to balance the books.
And now, football.london claims Tottenham expect to wrap up a deal for Grealish in the next few days.
Unless another club makes an 11th hour move, it seems Grealish will almost certainly be a Spurs player by the close of the transfer window.
He’s likely to become the club’s first signing of the summer.
