Tottenham are biding their time ahead of a possible move for Arsenal target Steven N’Zonzi, according to reports in Spain.

The Sevilla midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal with new Gunners manager Unai Emery planning a reunion.

N’Zonzi was part of Emery’s Europa League-winning Sevilla side in 2015/16 and is thought to be keen on a return to England.

The 29-year-old, who is currently with the France World Cup squad in Russia, made over 200 combined appearances for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.

Last week, reports emerged suggesting Spurs are interested in challenging Arsenal for N’Zonzi’s signature.

And now, Spanish outlet Marca (via Sport Witness) claims Tottenham are “waiting” to make their move for the eight-time France international.

It is believed Sevilla need to sell players before they can bring in new recruits, so N’Zonzi could be shipped out sooner rather than later.

Spurs are likely to be in need of a new central midfielder this summer with Mousa Dembele expected to leave the club – the Belgian is attracting interest from Italy and China.

Tottenham are expected to make Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish their first summer signing in the coming days.
