Mauricio Pochettino has urged Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy not to sell Christian Eriksen, who is a £100 million target for Paris Saint-Germain, according to the Express.
The French transfer window doesn’t close until August 31st, and PSG are said to be planning a £100 million move for Eriksen before then.
However, the Express claims Pochettino has told Levy he does not want the club to sell Eriksen as a replacement can’t be signed until the January transfer window.
Eriksen has been tipped to follow the lead of Pochettino and Harry Kane by signing a new long-term contract with Spurs.
There is no sign of that happening imminently, but there is also little chance Tottenham will allow the Dane to leave before the end of the month.
Spurs failed to sign a single player during over the summer. If they had any intention of listening to offers for Eriksen, they would have brought in a replacement.
The Express isn’t the most reliable of sources, so it’s probably best to ignore their story unless other outlets begin to report similar.
