The first of Christian Eriksen’s three goals for Denmark against the Republic of Ireland last November has been nominated for UEFA Goal of the season.
Eriksen’s netted a stunning hat-trick to secure Denmark’s place at the 2018 World Cup with a 5-1 victory in Ireland.
All three of his goals were well taken, but his first was particularly impressive. Eriksen latched onto a pass following a fine team move and curled the ball in off the bar.
Eriksen and Denmark went on to reach the Round of 16 in Russia, losing to eventual runners-up Croatia.
