Seven clubs are interested in signing Tottenham target Frenkie De Jong, according to reports in Spain.
The Ajax midfielder is said to be a January target for Spurs, who failed to make a single signing over the summer.
After impressing in the Eredivisie since he was 19, the 21-year-old has attracted the attention of Barcelona according to the Spanish media.
But Mundo Deportivo believes four other clubs have joined Barcelona and Tottenham in the race to sign De Jong.
They are: Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma, meaning De Jong could have the choice of moving to any one of Europe’s top five leagues.
Spurs are arguably the most desperate for the youngster’s signature. Mauricio Pochettino requires a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract.
Harry Winks is now fully fit and could play a more significant role this season, but Tottenham need depth and De Jong would be an ideal addition.
However, the stature of his other suitors could prevent the Londoners from getting a deal done.
