Oliver Skipp could make his first-team debut for Tottenham against West Ham United in the EFL Cup at the end of the month, according to football.london.
Mauricio Pochettino has seen many of his midfielders fall to injuries already this season, and Skipp was included on the bench against Cardiff City due to a lack of other options.
But there is a feeling the 17-year-old wasn’t just making up the numbers.
Skipp was excellent in pre-season for Spurs and recently won the Player of the Month award in the Premier League 2 following a string of fine performances.
Tottenham face West Ham in the Premier League this weekend, and while that game might come too soon for Skipp, football.london believes there is every chance the teenager will play against the Hammers in the EFL Cup on October 31.
The game comes just two days after Spurs play Manchester City in the Premier League at Wembley, so Pochettino is likely to make a number of changes for the West Ham match.
There will be plenty of anticipation among Tottenham fans if Skipp does make his debut.
