Mauricio Pochettino has revealed Christian Eriksen is fit to start against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday, but the Dane may be used from the bench.
Eriksen, who missed games for Denmark during the recent international break, returned from a stomach injury as a late substitute in Saturday’s Premier League victory over West Ham United.
And ahead of tomorrow’s crunch Champions League game against PSV, Pochettino has given an update on Spurs’ injury situation, revealing Eriksen is fit but Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli all remain sidelined.
The Tottenham manager must now make a decision on Eriksen and his startling line-up in the Netherlands.
“Christian Eriksen is fit to be selected but we will see tomorrow if I decide for him to play from beginning or bench,” Pochettino told a press conference (via @SpursOfficial).
If Eriksen doesn’t start, Erik Lamela may be called upon to be the team’s creative outlet. However, the Argentinian has said he is being carefully managed as a result of his 13-month lay-off with a hip problem.
Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura are also in contention to start in the attacking positions behind Harry Kane.
