Tottenham are interested in Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to reports in the Netherlands.

The 22-year-old is among the most highly rated goalkeepers in Holland and has made six appearances for the Cameroon national team.

After spending time at the Samuel Eto’o academy and Barcelona as a youngster, Onana joined Ajax in 2015 and has made almost 100 appearances since.

He has kept two clean sheets in the Champions League so far this season – against AEK Athens and Benfica – and could be set for a move next summer.

And according to Dutch publication Voetbal International, Spurs are keen on Onana.

However, it’s unclear whether the Londoners want him as a direct replacement for Hugo Lloris or as a back-up option to replace Michel Vorm, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Lloris has made a number of high-profile mistakes in recent months. Tottenham would be wise to at least start looking for a long-term replacement.

There is also Paulo Gazzaniga to consider. The Argentinian shone during Lloris’ absence through injury earlier this season.
