Davinson Sanchez will be assessed before Tottenham’s trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this weekend.

The Colombian played two games in the space of 48 hours earlier this week, featuring against Manchester City just two days before Wednesdays’ EFL Cup victory at West Ham United.

Jan Vertonghen is currently injured, so Mauricio Pochettino has been forced to call upon Sanchez repeatedly during an incredibly busy period.

But the 22-year-old will need to be checked, according to Pochettino, before Saturday’s visit to Wolves, although there is still a good chance he will play given the lack of other options.

“With some problems with some players, we cannot rotate too much,” Pochettino said in his press conference on Friday (via @BenPearceSpurs).

Eric Dier has also been ruled out through injury, so Pochettino is left with Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth as his centre-back options.

It will be interesting to see if Pochettino trusts Foyth enough to throw him in for his Premier League debut this weekend.

The Argentinian was excellent against West Ham and it can only be matter of time before we see him feature in more important competitions than the EFL Cup.
