Christian Eriksen has said there have been talks with Tottenham over a new contract but his agent is taking care of negotiations.

A number of high-profile figures at the club have signed new deals in recent months, including Mauricio Pochettino, Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Heung-Min Son and Erik Lamela also committed their futures to the club over the summer, and Eriksen has been tipped as the next player to agree a new contract.

The London Evening Standard claims Spurs are hopeful the Dane will agree a deal to double his salary soon.

Ahead of the international fixtures set to take place over the next few days, Eriksen was asked about his chances of putting pen to paper in the near future.

“I have my agent to take care of it so I can play football. Then we see where it ends,” he told Danish outlet BT (via Standard Sport).

“There have been talks with Tottenham many times. I cannot say if it’s over just yet – you must ask them.”

Spurs fans will be desperate for Eriksen to end lingering speculation about a possible move to Barcelona or Real Madrid by signing a new contract.

Until that happens, rumours of a potential exit aren’t likely to go away.
