Juventus are considering a January move for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to reports in Italy.
Eriksen’s current contract expires in the summer of 2020. There has been plenty of recent talk about whether he is keen to sign a new deal or explore the possibility of a move away.
Spurs are said to be confident of convincing the Dane to extend his stay with the club, but as the winter transfer window creeps ever closer there is sure to be increased speculation about his future.
Italian outlet Tuttosport claims Eriksen is high on Juventus’ list of targets. The Serie A champions want to re-sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United, but it is believed they are looking at Eriksen and Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey as potential alternatives.
It would be far easier for them to sign Ramsey, who is out of contract with the Gunners at the end of the current season and will free to talk to foreign clubs in January.
But Eriksen is on another level to Ramsey, so it’s easy to see why Juventus might prefer the Tottenham man. Hopefully Spurs can find a resolution soon, preferably one that results in Eriksen signing a new contract.
