Christian Eriksen is yet to respond to Tottenham’s latest contract offer, according to the London Evening Standard.
The Dane is out of contract at the end of next season and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona in recent months.
The Standard claims Eriksen is stalling on Spurs’ latest offer, which was submitted last month, although the Londoners are said to be confident he will sign a new long-term deal.
Eriksen has scored six goals and provided nine assists in 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
He was on the scoresheet in Tottenham’s 3-0 victory over Cardiff City on New Year’s Day and has come up with a number of important strikes already this term.
Mauricio Pochettino, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli have all signed new contracts since last summer, and there are hopes Eriksen will do the same in the near future.
The 26-year-old has been one of the best players in the squad under Pochettino’s management – there is a possibility he is waiting to discover the manager’s future amid all of the Manchester United speculation.
