Tottenham have not given up in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports in Spain.
Rabiot, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is set leave the PSG after telling the Ligue 1 champions he will not sign a new deal.
Barcelona have admitted to approaching Rabiot on two occasions, but according to Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness) the Frenchman has not reached a pre-contract agreement with the Catalan giants.
It is believed this has caused friction between Rabiot and Barcelona, which could give four other suitors hope of getting a deal done – one of those suitors is said to be Spurs.
Tottenham apparently want to sign the 23-year-old in the current transfer window instead of waiting until the summer to acquire him for nothing.
Reports have suggested Rabiot sees Spurs as below his level, but the uncertainty surrounding his expected move to Barcelona could work in the Londoners’ favour.
Mauricio Pochettino is in need of a new central midfielder with Mousa Dembele reportedly set to leave for the Chinese Super League.
Rabiot would be the ideal replacement, but it’s far too early to say if Tottenham have a genuine chance of getting him.
It’s hard to believe why Rabiot would consider Spurs as he is quoted as saying “Spurs are beneath him”.
It’s also hard to believe that Spurs would consider Rabiot when it would seem that his head is too big to fit through Spurs doorways.
If he actually said Spurs are beneath him then wtf are bothering with him – piss poor attitude that he would bring to the Club and the other players.
Hugo will reel him in.
