Tottenham could swoop for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek by the end of the month, according to reports in France.
Ajax stars Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong have been heavily linked with exits from the Eredivisie club over recent months, with Spurs and Barcelona both said to hold an interest in the duo.
But according to French outlet L’Equipe, as relayed by Sport Witness, Van de Beek is possibly more likely to leave Ajax this month than De Ligt or De Jong.
L’Equipe claims Ajax could listen to offers of €20 million (approximately £18m) for Van de Beek, although Sport Witness suggests that fee is optimistic.
Paris Saint-Germain are said to be among the clubs who could be interested in the 21-year-old central midfielder.
The French champions are set to lose Adrien Rabiot either in January or in the summer – the contract rebel continues to be linked with Tottenham.
L’Equipe’s report names Manchester United and Spurs as the Premier League clubs monitoring Van de Beek.
Tottenham are in need of a new central midfielder with Mousa Dembele set to leave for the Chinese Super League, but United would probably offer a more attractive salary to Van de Beek.
LOL €18 million… not for below 45 million !
