Tottenham are interested in signing AS Roma striker Patrik Schick, according to reports in Italy.

Schik was linked with a move to Spurs before he joined Roma from Sampdoria in the summer of 2017.

The 22-year-old scored just three times across all competitions last season, but he has already bettered that tally this term with four goals.

With Edin Dzeko usually leading the line up front for Roma, Schik has found it difficult to cement a place in the starting line up.

And Italian outlet Sport Mediaset claims a number of clubs are keen on the Czech Republic international, and it is believed Tottenham were the last club to express an interest.

However, it all seems a bit unrealistic. For one thing, Roma are said to be eager to keep hold of Schik.

On top of that, his game time wouldn’t improve at Spurs in the long term regardless of the club’s current striker problems.

With Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura all unavailable for Sunday’s trip to Fulham, Fernando Llorente tried and failed to lead the line adequately.

Somebody like Schik could come in and immediately do a better job, but his minutes would be reduced when Kane and Son return.
