Tottenham travel to Chelsea for the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Thursday night, leading 1-0 thanks to Harry Kane’s penalty in the reverse fixture.
The injury crisis at Spurs has hit a new low, meaning Mauricio Pochettino has a number of decisions to make regarding his team selection.
Paul Gazzaniga will keep his place between the sticks, while we are likely to see a repeat of the same back three that started against Fulham on Sunday – Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen – unless Pochettino wants to give Juan Foyth a chance.
Danny Rose should start again after his impressive display at Craven Cottage, with Kieran Trippier on the other wing.
Eric Dier is finally fit and will probably start next to Harry Winks in central midfield, giving Christian Eriksen the chance to push up into the front three.
Fernando Llorente’s tepid performance on Sunday will surely have tempted Pochettino to try something different up front. The returning Lucas Moura could play through the middle, supported by Eriksen and Erik Lamela.
Here’s our predicted line-up to face Chelsea – what’s yours? Let us know in the comments section below.
I may just go 442 so same team as above but Sanchez out and llorente in I like the smaller and big stricker combo that’s just my thoughts can’t do much really with players as we ain’t got none ? Just formation really ?
I’d stick with Llorente, he’s a quality player that needs game time.
id stick with Llorente as well.. and tell the lads to get crosses in.. and play to his strenths
Will take our first draw of the season, perfect 0-0 yippie !!
Nt being perdantic but including cup games we have drawn twice 🙂
aurier ???
Id play llorente instead of lamela and use the wing backs to get crosses into him.
Maura with Lloriente
Lamela out
Tripper is a liability, rather play KWP and invest in him, he’s given us 2 MOM performances, also give Llorente time to shake off the rust, he has too much class, would also like to see Foyth come on in the 60th minute with Oliver Skipp and NKOUDOU coming on as substitutes as well. Whilst it’s a cup game, it’s a great opportunity to examine our squad depth
@darespur – It’s the 2nd leg in a semi final of a cup, but you want us to check our squad depth out?
Are you dizzy ?!?

I’d play
442
With the width coming from Rose and Aurier as wingers. Trippier and Davies behind.
Middle of Sissoko and Eriksen with Llorente and Moura up top.
Gives us good cover against the wide Chelsea team.
