Paris Saint-Germain star Adrien Rabiot has informed Tottenham he has no intention of joining them, according to reports in France.

Rabiot has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in recent days after Barcelona, who were believed to be favourites to sign the midfielder, completed a deal for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong’s move to the Nou Camp has seen Tottenham emerge as the frontrunners to sign Rabiot, and reports last week suggested the club had made a formal approach for the Frenchman.

However, French outlet L’Equipe (via GFFN) is now claiming Rabiot has formally told Spurs he does not want to move to north London.

The report goes on to say Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Barcelona and Chelsea could all battle for the 23-year-old’s signature in the summer.

It’s certainly a blow to Tottenham, who are attempting to recruit a long-term replacement for Mousa Dembele after the Belgian’s move to China.

Rabiot would have been ideal but the club is surely looking at other options. It will be interesting to see if any business is done before Thursday’s deadline.

  1. Why would he we as a club don’t win trophies. Our manager has said that finishing fourth is more important than winning the fa Cup or the league cup. Well as a fan I guess we have been warned for next year. Don’t buy tickets for the cup games

    • Poch was 100% correct what he was saying. Premier League and champions league come first. In the middle of a terrible injury crisis where we have huge games coming up and just lost two players more in the semi with Chelsea do you really think its wise to ditch everything and focus purely on the FA Cup? Wise up.
That 4th place is 50m+ more important to our project than the league cup or FA Cup. How can you really say that a manager doesn’t care about cups when he’s now been in 3 semis, 1 final and 3 title races in 5 years, without spending a penny?

      • Wise up??? You serious?? The way we are playing and the team he is picking we won’t make top four! Every clubs history is on what you win. Give me an FA cup victory over 4th place any day. If your so well informed of our project can you tell the manager and the board because they don’t seem to know.
After all this COYS… club needs success… not top 4.

        • Our project is to compete with teams spending way more money than we do and grow as a club. Compare Spurs now to Spurs in the Redknapp era, we have made titanic leaps in revenue, which will only improve when the new stadium arrives. Everyone wants success now but Levy is setting us up for long term success. We have finally smashed the wage structure for our top players, but lets be real, no one was brought in, we had 9 players return from the World Cup and we are now in our worst injury crisis imaginable and still competing. We had our cup run and we lost in the semi final on penalties. An FA Cup run came at a time when our squad is thread bare, our core players have been playing every 3 days or so for us since Chelsea on 24th November and are starting to look jaded if fit to play at all.
Sadly, we have to put everything into top four and Champions League, and if we can get through Dortmund and get Kane, Sissoko and Alli back for the next round in our new stadium, this season could end awesome.
