Besiktas are closing in on the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, according to reports in Turkey.

Nkoudou made his first start of the season against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Sunday as a result of the club’s current injury crisis.

The Frenchman made an impact from the bench at Fulham in the Premier League earlier this month, providing a pinpoint cross for Harry Winks’ winning goal.

But he desperately struggled at Selhurst Park, missing a good opportunity to score in the first half and doing very little to suggest he is a viable option for the first-team.

Nkoduou has been linked with a move away on countless occasions since joining Spurs in the summer of 2016, but permanent deals have always failed to materialise.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, and it now seems as if he will leave the club on loan again.

According to Turkish outlet Fotomac (via Sport Witness), Nkoudou is set to join Besiktas on loan for the remainder of the season.

His exit will be no great loss to Tottenham following Son Heung-min’s return from the Asian Cup.

  1. Because both those clubs aren’t stupid. The actual question is why did we buy him in the first place? It was a punt at best and an expensive one at that. Did anyone from the club watch him play? At least N’Jie had pace, what does N’Koudou have cos I haven’t seen anything in 3 years….
